What You'll Learn
Creative Enterprise in the Gig Economy equips students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to face challenges in the creative industries as a novice professional. The module emphasises submitting a pitch that demonstrates an understanding of financial and marketing planning, intellectual property rights, and presentation and delivery skills. Students learn to pitch a creative idea or concept to a company or organisation. Students will acquire fundamental knowledge of marketing and contracts. Students practise communicating clearly in business settings, specifically in pitching, negotiating, and marketing their expertise. Students also develop the ability to provide an overview of the different types of business enterprises that engage creative professionals and explain how freelancers function in today’s global creative marketplace. Students learn to research potential employers, draft indications of interest for projects, and pitch ideas in a variety of settings.
Entry Requirements
- 3 GCE ‘O’ level with English language (grade 1-7), Mathematics (grade 1-6) and 1 relevant subject (grade 1-6) and 3 years of relevant working experience
- NITEC/ NITEC in Technology/ Services (GPA 3.5 and above) and and 2 years of relevant working experience
-Higher NITEC/ Higher NITEC in Technology/ Services and 1 year of relevant working experience
-Relevant WSQ Diploma + Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 6 and and 3 years of relevant working experience
- For applicants who do not meet the MER, the polytechnics will consider discretionary entry based on the structured process for discretionary entry to CET diploma programmes
