About This Course
1. This course in vascular ultrasound will benefit Allied health professionals, particularly the Diagnostic Radiographers and sonographers who work with sophisticated medical radiation equipment and a wide range of techniques to produce radiographic images of the body.
2. It will focus on indications, anatomy, scanning techniques, normal and abnormal findings in a vascular ultrasound examination.
3. The use of ultrasound images will deepskill the radiography healthcare team in providing clear and accurate examination of the vascular system.
What You'll Learn
On completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
1. Understand the core principles underlying the Doppler examination and clinical applications using color and spectral Doppler techniques.
2. Be familiar with the common indications, sonographic anatomy and common pathologies of the various vascular systems.
3. Describe the scanning technique/imaging protocol required to produce good images with diagnostic quality.
4. Recognise the normal and abnormal ultrasound anatomy of the abdominal, peripheral arterial and venous systems as well as the cerebrovascular system.
5. Deepen understanding on the significance of lab and/or clinical tests, supplementary imaging modalities for diseases related to various vascular systems.
