Translating Educational Neuroscience (Classroom and Asynchronous E-Learning)
About This Course
Translating the science of learning research into educational practice and policy is challenging. This course helps learners understand the ethics, feasibility, and obstacles involved in making informed decisions for their students. Learners will gain advanced knowledge of educational neuroscience and learn how to evaluate existing interventions within the science of learning framework. By the end of the course, learners will be able to describe the processes that support the integration of evidence-based interventions in real-world settings, identify methodological considerations and frameworks in translational research, analyse approaches to science of learning concepts, and critically evaluate interventions and their efficacy. Learners will be equipped with an advanced level of understanding of translating educational neuroscience, its ethical considerations and how to evaluate existing interventions situated within the sphere of science of learning.
What You'll Learn
1. Describe the processes and factors that lead to widespread use and successful integration of evidence-based interventions into real-world settings
2. Identify common translational research frameworks and measures such as the 5-phase translation model and Knowledge-to-Action frameworks
3. Analyse translational approaches to addressing science of learning concepts
4. Examine the ethical issues surrounding translational research
5. Examine translational efficacy of claims from various methodologies in science of learning research
6. Design, apply and evaluate technology-mediated learning solutions based on educational neuroscience findings
