About This Course
This course is designed to help leaders, and emerging leaders elevate their leadership effectiveness by integrating mentoring and coaching techniques that drive continuous learning and development at work. Participants will explore their leadership styles, build practical mentoring and coaching skills, and create actionable plans that support real-world application. Through reflective exercises, role-plays, and structured frameworks, participants will gain tools to foster a more supportive, feedback-driven, and growth-oriented workplace. The course emphasises how leaders can cultivate a strong workplace learning culture—one where development is embedded into daily conversations, performance management, and team engagement. Participants will leave equipped with the skills, mindset, and confidence to champion individual and team growth through purposeful leadership, mentoring, and coaching.
What You'll Learn
1. Define leadership and explore the Four Colour Energies, using the Insights Transformational Leadership profile to analyse personal leadership styles and develop strategies to adapt leadership behaviours that support staff development and learning in the workplace.
2. Understand the role of mentoring in building a learning culture, apply effective mentoring techniques, and practice mentoring through realistic workplace scenarios, focusing on how to create a safe and supportive environment for feedback, reflection, and performance growth.
3. Distinguish between coaching and mentoring, apply the GROW and STAR models, and practice coaching through role-play exercises, with an emphasis on motivating staff, reinforcing learning, and guiding performance improvements through structured developmental conversations.
4. Champion a culture of continuous development through intentional coaching and mentoring practices.
5. Reflect on key leadership learnings, develop a personal leadership growth plan, and identify actionable steps to integrate coaching and mentoring into everyday leadership.
Entry Requirements
Participants will need to complete Insights Discovery Beginning the Journey and/or Insights Discovery Empowering Teams workshops before attending this workshop.
