Basic Counselling Skills
About This Course
At the end of the course, learners will be able to apply para-counselling skills so as to support certified counselling professionals in their daily work. Learners will have the awareness of ethical practices and maintaining client confidentiality and privacy during the counselling process. Learners will be able to recognize common barriers of communication. Learners will also learn to provide engagement and support to clients by applying listening skills and questioning techniques and communication methods relating to para counselling.
What You'll Learn

3. Maintain client confidentiality and privacy when providing engagement and support
4. Provide engagement and support to clients throughout the counselling process according to care plans
Entry Requirements
Learners should preferably be/possess:
• Have at least 1 GCE ‘N’ Level Pass
• Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL Level 3)
