About This Course
Facility Management Professional (FMP) is a knowledge-based credential for Facility Management professionals, those who work in Facilities Management (FM) and those who work in related industries looking to increase their depth-of-knowledge in the core FM topics deemed critical by employers. FMP is updated and aligned with the most recent International Facility Management Association (IFMA) global job task analysis, ensuring that it teaches and tests the knowledge deemed critical and demanded by employers globally. Pursuing FMP will show great dedication to advancing the proficiency of an existing FM professional and add value to the organisation. It will also help new entrants to accelerate the transition into the FM profession. Once the participant has successfully completed all four final assessments, they will be able to submit an application for a lifetime listing in IFMA's credentials registry, share their credential with current/potential employers, decorate their LinkedIn profile and include in their email signature or name card.
What You'll Learn
By completing the course, participants will have successfully pursued the educational curriculum necessary to obtain the designation, built their skills and abilities to meet or exceed industry-wide standards, and broadened their knowledge and professional networks in the Facility Management (FM) industry.
Learning Outcomes:
This course teaches and assesses participants on their comprehension of topics in these four foundation knowledge domains and skills of facility management:
1. Operations and Maintenance - Participants will be able to assess and inspect facility needs, manage, oversee and monitor Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of buildings, systems and equipment. Participants will understand the processes to develop occupant service specifications and more.
2. Project Management – Participants will learn to plan, initiate and execute projects. Participants will understand the entire project life cycle and be able to monitor and control project performance and evaluate outcomes.
3. Finance and Business – Participants will learn the essential finance and business practices and integrate those into their function as a Facility Manager. Participants will be able to engage finance, legal, procurement, risk managers and others to maximise decisions for their organisation.
4. Leadership and Strategy – Participants will learn effective strategies require of facility managers to integrate people, place and process. Participants will be able to align the facility portfolio and functionality with its organisation’s missions and available resources.
Entry Requirements
- Applicants with diploma in relevant disciplines with minimum GPA of 2 and one year of relevant working experience, OR
- Applicants with GCE A levels with minimum Grade E in any three GCE 'A' Level subjects, including English and two science subjects or equivalent and one year of relevant working experience, OR
- Applicants with other relevant qualifications and five years of relevant work experience.
