About This Course
This course will equip participants with the following competencies:

• sufficient machine learning foundations to build data models such as sentiment classifiers
• the skills to mine data from the web and perform sentiment analysis on the data
• how sentiment analysis can be used to generate business insights and perform market research
What You'll Learn
With the introduction of modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) echo systems (e.g. the Internet, Smartphones, digitalization), there has been tremendous growth in data generated by both systems and people. We can use structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to extract many facts and patterns hidden inside those resources. One of the information that we can analyse now is sentiments and polarity of opinions. Sentiment analysis or opinion mining is concerned with extracting opinionated content, and analysing it to provide some clue on how users feel about an issue/thing/service/product, and so on. This course will provide both a theoretical foundation and hands-on experience for someone to understand and practice sentiment analysis and opinion mining.
