What You'll Learn

This module provides a foundational and critical understanding of the historical and contemporary contexts of visual and communications design; to inspire students to gather inspirations from past and present cultures, while learning to grapple with ever-evolving trends in global culture, design industries and generative technologies; and to learn to apply their creative skillsets effectively within these volatile and fast evolving creative industries Through a combination of theory and application, creative visual experimentation and reflection, and supported by appropriate growth-oriented and emotional self-regulating mindsets students will be empowered to use both technology-augmented and intuition-tapping imaginations to create a series of creative outputs and start to articulate their design ideas and concepts.

Entry Requirements

GCE ‘O’ Levels - 3 relevant passes and 1-year relevant working experience:
Subjects/ Min. Grade:
1. English Language - 6
2. Mathematics (Elemental or Additional) - 7
3. Any one other subject excluding CCA Grade - 6

FT Nitec - GPA > 3.5 OR GPA > 3.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience
PT Nitec in Technology/Services - GPA > 3.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience
FT Higher Nitec - GPA > 2.0 OR GPA > 1.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience
PT Higher Nitec in Technology/Services - GPA > 2.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience
WSQ Diploma - Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher) with 1 year of relevant working experience and Level 6 for both WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA & Workplace Numeracy SOA.
Without any of the relevant academic qualifications - At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) - Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course
