Nanyang Enterprise Risk Management (Module 3)
About This Course
This course is Module 3 of the Nanyang Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programme.
The Nanyang ERM programme helps management and risk executives gain a more holistic view of risk throughout the organisation, so they can better align their business model and strategies to manage risk and achieve better returns.
Comprising 3 modules, each 2 days long, this programme is specially designed in collaboration with The Risk Management Society (RIMS) to equip participants with five core competencies:
1. Analyzing the Business Model
2. Designing Organizational Risk Strategies
3. Implementing the Risk Process
4. Developing Organizational Risk Competency
5. Supporting Decision Making
What You'll Learn
The core focus of this module is developing organisational risk competencies and supporting decision making.
Building on the key concepts covered in modules 1 and 2 of the Nanyang ERM programme, Module 3 supports participants in developing and deploying their ERM leadership skills. This module outlines the possible challenges of successful ERM implementation and provides participants with some approaches to manage these challenges, as well as embedding and sustaining ERM into an organization’s day-to-day operations.
Course objectives:
1. Analyse and evaluate the challenges that organisations faced during their ERM journey.
2. Apply the appropriate tools and techniques during the implementation of an ERM framework at an organization.
3. Specifically, participants will learn and practise how to
• apply change management concepts in planning and managing ERM implementation.
• apply ERM maturity model to identify areas of improvement in ERM framework.
• integrate risk process with key management processes.
• facilitate risk-based decision making.
• understand, manage, and mitigate perceptions about ERM.
• operationalize and embed risk management within an organization’s day-to-day operations.
4. Create and implement a holistic ERM framework that allows an organization to reap the benefits of good ERM.
5. Understand disruption and prepare an enterprise to deal with disruption to enhance the organizations resilience.
Entry Requirements
No fixed qualification requirements but executives with 5 or more years of work experience will be able to better appreciate the course contents.
