What You'll Learn

The Certificate in Life Science introduces participants to human anatomy, physiology, and forensic science. It covers the structure and function of major organs and body systems, linking microscopic and gross anatomy to physiological processes. Participants will also learn the fundamental principles of forensic investigations, including crime scene investigation, chain of custody, arson, explosives, toxicology, and DNA and protein analysis. The course incorporates real-life case studies and introduces the mindsets required of forensic analysts, along with practical laboratory skills to analyse and characterise chemicals commonly encountered in forensic laboratories.

Entry Requirements

• The participant shall be Singapore Citizens (“SC”), Singapore Permanent Residents (“PR”) or Long-Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) Holders.
• The participant shall be fresh graduates with full-time Institute of Technical Education (ITE) NITEC/ Higher NITEC from the relevant fields.
• The participant shall be within 36 months after their graduation from the PSEI (graduation date as stated on the NITEC/Higher NITEC certificates). For male participants who need to serve National Service, the 36-month period will start from the Operationally Ready Date (“ORD”).
• ITE graduates from other NITEC/Higher NITEC courses may also apply and the application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Participant who does not falls under any eligibility mentioned above will be considered if IHLs and employer deem candidate suitable for WSP.
