What You'll Learn

The Certificate in Industrial Chemistry provides participants with knowledge of chemical process plant equipment and petrochemicals. It covers the functions, operating principles, components, and commissioning procedures of various process plant equipment. Participants will also gain theoretical and practical knowledge of petrochemicals, including their conversion into building blocks and specialty chemicals, and their significance to Singapore’s economy. The course includes laboratory skills to analyse the physical and chemical properties of petroleum products and petrochemicals.

Entry Requirements

• The participant shall be Singapore Citizens (“SC”), Singapore Permanent Residents (“PR”) or Long-Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) Holders.
• The participant shall be fresh graduates with full-time Institute of Technical Education (ITE) NITEC/ Higher NITEC from the relevant fields.
• The participant shall be within 36 months after their graduation from the PSEI (graduation date as stated on the NITEC/Higher NITEC certificates). For male participants who need to serve National Service, the 36-month period will start from the Operationally Ready Date (“ORD”).
• ITE graduates from other NITEC/Higher NITEC courses may also apply and the application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Participant who does not falls under any eligibility mentioned above will be considered if IHLs and employer deem candidate suitable for WSP.
