Apply Knowledge of Network Protocols, Architectures, and Wireless Algorithms
About This Course
In this module, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of network control, configuration, and security principles essential for effective network management and penetration testing. Through hands-on exercises and real-world scenarios, learners will explore various network architectures, protocols, and security mechanisms. They will also develop skills in analyzing network traffic, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing security measures to protect network infrastructure. By the end of this module, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to secure and optimize network environments.
What You'll Learn
LO2: Identify various network types (e.g., CAT 5, Fibre, Wireless) and their security implications.
LO3: Perform local network traffic analysis and interpret data from PCAP files using tools like Wireshark.
LO4: Assess security issues related to networking protocols such as ARP, DHCP, SSH, Telnet and more
LO5: Enumerate and fingerprint wireless devices, and understand encryption and authentication methods like WEP, WPA, and EAP.
LO6: Understand the importance of egress and ingress filtering and review firewall rule bases and access control lists.
