ISO 50001 Lead Auditor Practitioner (Classroom & Asynchronous)
About This Course
This comprehensive 5-day course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to perform first, second, and third-party audits of Energy Management Systems (EnMS) in accordance with ISO 50001:2018, ISO 19011:2018, and ISO/IEC 17021:2015, where applicable.
Through a structured and practical approach, participants will learn to lead and conduct EnMS audits that drive energy performance improvement and ensure compliance with international standards. The course covers the full audit lifecycle—from audit initiation and planning to reporting and follow-up—emphasizing best practices and real-world application.
Led by experienced tutors, this training enables delegates to confidently plan, execute, and report on EnMS audits, contributing to enhanced energy efficiency and sustainable operational performance.
The course comprises two components: a 4-hour asynchronous eLearning module covering the requirements of ISO 50001, followed by a 5-day in-person classroom training focused on the ISO 50001 Lead Auditor curriculum. Participants who successfully complete both the eLearning and classroom sessions, and pass the associated assessments, will be awarded the ISO 50001 Lead Auditor Practitioner qualification.

Knowledge:
• Explain the purpose of an EnMS, of EnMS standards, of management system audit, of third-party certification, and the business benefits of improved energy
performance.
• Explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow-up an EnMS audit in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, as appropriate.
Skills:
• Plan, conduct, report and follow-up an audit of an EnMS to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO 50001, and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 where appropriate.
Entry Requirements
• Aged 21 and above;
• Have minimum GCE “N”, “O” or “A” Level / NITEC or a diploma qualification and minimum 1 year of working experience; and
• Have an English language proficiency equivalent or higher of any of the following - GCSE N/O Levels pass in English
