What You'll Learn

This module introduces students to the fundamental concepts and practical skills in Additive Manufacturing (AM). Students will explore a range of AM processes—including Material Extrusion (MEX), and Powder Bed Fusion (PBF)—while gaining essential knowledge into health and safety aspects, post-processing, inspection, and an overview of the AM process certification. Through tutorials, and hands-on lab activities, students will gain an understanding of the AM workflow—from design to printing, post-processing, inspection, and testing. They will also explore basic principles of AM Design: CAD, Design for AM and complete the module by developing a project report based on a printed AM part.

Entry Requirements

GCE ‘O’ Levels
3 relevant passes and 1 year relevant working experience:
Subjects/ Min. Grade:
1. English Language: 7
2. Mathematics (Elementary or Additional): 6
3. Science : 6

FT Nitec:
GPA > 3.5 OR GPA > 3.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience

PT Nitec in Technology/Services:
GPA > 3.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience

FT Higher:
Nitec GPA > 2.0 OR GPA > 1.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience

PT Higher Nitec in Technology/Services:
GPA > 2.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience

WSQ Diploma:
Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher) with 1 year of relevant working experience and Level 6 for both WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA & Workplace Numeracy SOA.

Without any of the relevant academic qualifications:
At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
