About This Course

The Specialist Diploma in Beauty & Personal Care Products aims to develop competent, well-rounded, and future-ready professionals who can contribute effectively to Singapore’s fast-evolving beauty and personal care product sector. Catering to both fresh diploma graduates and mid-career individuals, the programme equips learners with the scientific, technological, sustainability, consumer insights and marketing knowledge needed for career progression, sector pivots, or entrepreneurship. Through the integration of emerging trends like artificial intelligence and sustainable practices, this specialist diploma equips learners with future-ready skills to drive innovation and successfully develop and launch beauty and personal care products. Learners can also customise their learning by deepening their knowledge and skill sets through one of three flexible learning pathways, namely cosmetic manufacturing and quality assurance, sustainability or artificial intelligence and digital transformation, that best align to their interests and goals.

What You'll Learn

This module introduces learners to the science and techniques of personal care product formulation, with a focus on sustainability and regulatory compliance. Emphasis is placed on selecting safe, eco-friendly, and sustainable ingredients, as well as designing formulations that meet industry and environmental standards. Learners will study key ingredient categories—such as preservatives, surfactants, and emulsifiers—and apply chemistry principles to develop personal care products. The module also covers evaluation methods to ensure product safety and efficacy, including in vitro and in vivo testing. Through project-based learning approach, learners will formulate, assess, and refine personal care products with a sustainability mindset.
