Practical Approach of Open Software Controllers in Advanced Manufacturing
About This Course
This course covers basic concepts for advanced automation systems based on open software connection and open source solutions. It shows how an Industrial Computer (IPC) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based solution can come together and how important the interaction of hardware, operating system and software is. There is an eye on Linux based operating system with self-sufficient running applications. Organisation of the Data in a layer structure on the controller and further opportunities to extend functions with app based and web based applications. Allow the participants to understand some typical terminologies and connectivity used in Internet-of-Things (IoT)/Industry 4.0.
What You'll Learn
1) Advanced automation platforms.
2) Understanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Industrial Computer (IPC) interaction in Industry 4.0, Software Hardware interaction, Operating System App interaction.
3) Benefits of open software and open source solutions.
4) Understanding of web based and app based applications. System integrity of own system or third parties. Paradigm shift in the Automation Pyramid, Connection to standard ethernet based communication protocols (ethercat) and possibilities with new programming languages.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1) Describe the Open software automation platform
