Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment Standard Level 2
About This Course
Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) Standard Level 2 is an intermediate certification course designed for cognitive trainers who have completed FIE Standard 1 and wish to deepen their understanding of the Feuerstein approach to cognitive intervention. This level introduces 5 new instruments—Categorization, Illustrations, Family Relations, Temporal Relations, and Instructions — which extend learners’ capacity to analyse relationships, process temporal and logical sequences, and strengthen inferential and organisational thinking.
Cognitive trainers will experience and learn how to apply all 12 Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) criteria and use the Cognitive Map to analyse tasks, plan mediation sessions, and tailor instruction for learners with varying needs and abilities. Through collaborative practice and case studies, mediators learn to help learners aged 9 to 39 transfer thinking strategies from cognitive exercises to academic, social, and workplace contexts.
FIE Standard 2 provides a deeper analysis of the 28 Deficient Cognitive Functions and the use of Dynamic Assessment as a profiling tool. Educators will explore how the Feuerstein method complements and surpasses traditional cognitive training, equipping them to work effectively with both high-functioning and neurodiverse learners.
Educators and trainers from junior colleges, polytechnics, corporate Learning and Development teams, and sport coaches who aspire to take on job roles as Applied Cognitive Coaches or L&D Cognitive Coaches, should advance from FIE Standard 1 to 2.
Participants who complete all training activities and deliverables will be awarded the FIE Standard Mediator Level 2 (of 3) certificate that is valid for 4 years and can be renewed by completing the following Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements: Submit an implementation log reflecting 30 hrs of practice, and complete in three additional Feuerstein certification courses or at least 8 online or “live” CPD seminars
