Product Prototyping
About This Course
This course equips learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills to design, develop, and test functional prototypes in real-world conditions. Through a step-by-step approach, learners will gain competency in blueprint creation, interface-based prototyping, usability testing, and performance validation — enabling them to produce accurate design documentation, construct user-friendly prototypes, and assess component interactions under simulated scenarios. By the end of the course, participants will be able to confidently apply design standards, engage stakeholders for feedback, and evaluate the functional success of their prototypes. This course is highly relevant to industries such as product design, engineering, UX/UI, and manufacturing, where iterative testing and user-centered validation are critical. It supports career growth into roles such as prototype technician, design assistant, or junior product designer, and enhances employability by aligning with evolving industry demands for hands-on design validation and cross-functional prototyping skills. It also serves as a vital upskilling pathway for individuals aiming to transition from drafting or technical support roles into more design-oriented or testing functions.
What You'll Learn
Learners begin by creating technical blueprints and specifications using prototyping tools. This includes understanding industry standards and preparing documents that accurately represent design intent.
LU2: Interface-Based Prototype Development
Learners proceed to build prototypes using both physical materials and interface design tools. They integrate functionality with layout and visual structure to produce usable early-stage models.
LU3: Stakeholder Feedback and Usability Testing
Learners practice setting up and conducting usability testing. They learn how to engage users and stakeholders, record feedback, and apply it to improve prototype usability and functionality.
LU4: Simulation and Component Interaction Validation
In the final phase, learners evaluate how different parts of the prototype function together under simulated real-world conditions. They validate performance success and assess final readiness for implementation or iteration.
