Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment Standard Level 3
About This Course
Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) Standard Level 3 is the advanced and final stage of the FIE Standard programme and is designed for lead cognitive trainers seeking mastery in both theory and practice. Building on the competencies developed in FIE levels 1 and 2, this program introduces five higher-order instruments—Orientation in Space II, Numerical Progressions, Transitive Relations, Syllogisms, and Representational Stencil Design. These instruments engage complex logical reasoning, abstract thinking, and advanced problem-solving skills, which are essential for training cognitive functions across diverse learner populations, typically aged 9 to 39.
At this advanced level, lead cognitive trainers and educators move from analysing and explaining mediation principles to designing, demonstrating, and applying Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) autonomously in educational, clinical, and organisational settings. They will learn to use the criteria for MLE, Dynamic Assessment, and the Cognitive Map to develop customised interventions, curriculum, and training materials to support specific applications such as neurodiverse groups, talent development, and cognitive rehabilitation.
Through research-based reflection, lead cognitive trainers will evaluate FIE literature and develop tailored coaching plans. The course culminates in a practicum where participants demonstrate mediation, plan individualised interventions, and document their area of specialisation, preparing them to train or lead cognitive training initiatives.
Educators and trainers from Institutes of Higher Learning professional training organisations & Workforce SG partners, and sport coaches who aspire to take on job roles as Cognitive Education Consultants or Learning & Development Master Cognitive Coaches, should aim to complete all three levels of the FIE Standard programme.
What You'll Learn
---> One FIE lesson plan for each of the five level 3 instruments, a 5-minute video recorded segment of an MLE session in class from one of the lesson plan executions, and a 100- to 200-word reflection on what is good and what can be improved based a peer-observation and self-assessment
---> A 200- to 300-word literature review on a desired area of specialisation based on one or more of the following: Mediated Learning Experience, FIE Basic, FIE Standard, FIE Tactile, Learning Propensity Assessment Device, Structural Cognitive Modifiability and Dynamic Assessment, or any other topic relevant to Feuerstein’s theories.
---> Describe specific actions, words or questions that can be used to mediate each of the 12 MLE criteria in your area of specialisation
---> Recommend specific interventions for each of the 28 deficient cognitive functions based on your area of specialisation
---> Design a mediation activity using the principles of FIE and the Cognitive Map for your area of specialisation
---> Draft a 3-point action plan for the next 12 months
