About This Course
This course delivers an in-depth and practical understanding of the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) standard, equipping participants with the technical competencies and audit methodologies required for effective internal auditing within diverse organisational contexts. The training integrates industry best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure participants can systematically assess, report, and drive continual improvement in environmental performance. Through a learner-centred, problem-based approach—incorporating real-world case studies, role-plays, and group discussions— It will develop the skills and knowledge to assess and report on the conformance and effective implementation of processes.
What You'll Learn
> Participants will be able to interpret the scope, structure, and apply the key principles of ISO 14001:2015, including the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) model and context of the organisation.
> Participants will be able to apply EMS codes of practice and legal requirements to identify and evaluate environmental hazards and risks in the workplace.
> Participants will be able to define and execute individual and team-based roles and responsibilities in EMS implementation and improvement.
> Participants will be able to develop, implement, and audit EMS standards and operational controls, including emergency preparedness and response procedures.
> Participants will be able to plan, conduct, and report internal audits in accordance with ISO 19011 guidelines, utilising effective audit preparation, evidence gathering, and reporting techniques.
> Participants will be able to demonstrate understanding on the environmental aspects, impacts and their significance
> Participants will be able to demonstrate the ability to confidently report findings and take corrective action
> Participants will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding on the responsibilities of an internal auditor and the role & purpose of internal audit
