BCA-STAS Introductory Course on Modular MEP Design and Prefabrication
About This Course
The construction industry's shift towards prefabrication and modular construction has intensified under the revised BCA Buildability Framework and Manufacturer Accreditation Scheme (MAS) requirements. With Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems representing approximately 40% of total construction project value, mastering modular MEP capabilities has become essential for achieving superior buildability scores, cost efficiency, and building performance.
Developed in partnership with the Specialists Trade Alliance of Singapore (STAS), this comprehensive programme addresses the critical skills gap in modular MEP implementation. Key learning areas include prefabrication principles, regulatory compliance with the enhanced Buildability Code of Practice, strategic procurement approaches, design integration methodologies, fabrication and installation processes.
What You'll Learn
• Participants will develop insight into the regulatory framework governing modular MEP and acquire skills to effectively navigate procurement processes within this sector
• Participants will develop practical skills in fabrication techniques, quality control processes, and manufacturing methodologies, learning how to implement effective production workflows for modular MEP systems
• Participants will acquire comprehensive knowledge of Integrated Design & Development (IDD), learning how it integrates with modular MEP systems and its practical implementation
Entry Requirements
Applicant should posses basic experience and knowledge in Modular PMEP
