Planning, Installation, Testing, and Safety Issues of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), with guidance from the International Electrotechnical Commission Standard IEC 62933
About This Course
As the Asia-Pacific region accelerates its clean energy transitions, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) play a crucial role in stabilising power systems and enabling renewable energy integration. Battery Energy Storage System technology is a key enabler, providing voltage and frequency support, peak shaving/shifting, inertia response, and autonomous black-start capabilities and emergency back-up. Initiatives like the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Power Grid Vision and national carbon neutrality goals are driving momentum for safe, intelligent solutions which can be aided by BESS.
This comprehensive training session on "Planning, Installation, Testing, and Safety Issues of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), with guidance from the International Electrotechnical Commission Standard IEC 62933”, is designed to enhance course participants' knowledge of the design, operation, maintenance, and compliance aspects of Battery Energy Storage Systems in line with the IEC 62933 standards. These two full-day sessions of face-to-face training is to be held in the Singapore Institute of Technology’s new Punggol Campus, which is itself designed with aggregate of 3 megawatt-hour (MWh) of BESS.
