Specialist Certificate in Supply Chain Essentials (Classroom, Synchronous & Asynchronous)
About This Course
This Micro-credential (MC) equips participants with the competencies to design, analyse, and optimise end-to-end supply chain processes, integrating digitalisation, sustainability, and data-driven decision-making into operational practice.
This Micro-credential will illustrate the concepts and develop a framework for participants to understand both practical and strategic perspectives. Participants will develop both practical and strategic competencies in applying strategic thinking, developing supply chain solution models by facilitating structured decision-making with sustainable outcomes in authentic supply chain contexts. Participants will also develop warehouse flows by applying Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge, green freight, and risk compliance, demonstrating the ability to optimise throughput, space utilisation, and responsible logistics operations in authentic contexts.
Through performance-based tasks, participants will acquire and apply skills to analyse and transform traditional supply chain practices into modern supply chain solutions in a digital era, promoting sustainable supply chain and logistics solutions, and enhancing fundamental functions, including warehouse and transportation management.
What You'll Learn
1. Formulate supply chain improvement strategies by evaluating existing supply chain strategic frameworks to identify gaps, using operations management knowledge and analytical tools, demonstrating the ability to align supply chain strategy with competitive strategy in authentic industry contexts.
2. Design supply chain management framework by analysing industry case contexts and applying supply chain theories and tools, demonstrating the ability to develop frameworks that balance supply chain drivers, trade-offs, and risks for effective decision-making in real-world contexts.
3. Develop supply chain solution models using design frameworks and analytical tools, demonstrating the ability to integrate efficiency and sustainability goals in practical contexts.
4. Design structured decision-making processes by evaluating design alternatives against sustainability criteria using analytical tools, demonstrating the ability to recommend sustainable solutions for authentic supply chain challenges.
5. Develop warehouse process flows using Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge and dashboard tools, demonstrating the ability to improve throughput and space utilisation in live warehouse contexts.
6. Optimise sustainability and safety practices in warehouse and transportation operations by applying carbon reporting, green freight methods, and risk compliance measures, demonstrating the ability to ensure responsible logistics performance in authentic logistics contexts.
Entry Requirements
This Micro-Credential is accessible without any stringent prerequisites. However, participants are recommended to possess:
• Analytical and quantitative reasoning skills — such as interpreting data trends, performing simple statistical analyses using quantitative tools (e.g., Excel).
• Awareness of carbon reporting, green freight methods, and safety principles in logistics.
