SCTP User-Centred Solutions: Integrating Design Thinking & Business Analysis with Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA)
About This Course
This is module 1 of the (SCTP) Digital Business Analyst (Full-Time) (TA-eligible) programme, which introduces participants to an integrated approach that combines Design Thinking with Business Analysis to develop effective user-centred solutions. Participants will gain practical exposure to problem framing, requirements development, and solution evaluation within real-world business contexts. The module also builds foundational competencies aligned with the Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) framework, supporting participants in applying structured analysis techniques while maintaining a strong focus on user needs and business value.
What You'll Learn
Introduces the five stages of Design Thinking and core UX Research methods like interviews, surveys, competitive analysis, and synthesising findings to identify user needs and pain points.
2. UX Design, Prototyping & Testing
Focuses on translating research into design, covering good UX principles, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping tools, and usability testing methods to validate designs.
3. Customer Experience (CX) Journey Mapping with Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI)
Details the creation of CX Journey Maps, focusing on how experiences change as user behaviours evolve with Gen AI interfaces and products/services.
4. Service Design & Service Blueprint
Explores Service Design principles—designing the full end-to-end service, not just the digital product. Highlights the Service Blueprint, which maps the entire service journey, including front-stage (visible to users) and back-stage (internal actions) processes.
5. Introduction to Digital Product Management & Business Analysis in Agile Teams
Defines the roles of a Digital Product Manager and a Business Analyst (BA), and how the BA adds value within a cross-functional Agile SCRUM team.
6. Product Requirements Gathering and Strategy Development
Covers the initial stages of defining a solution, including techniques for eliciting needs and documenting requirements. Participants will learn to transition from high-level problems to detailed specs and prepare the necessary documentation to start development.
7. Product & Stakeholder Delivery: Specification, Validation, and Quality Assurance
Covers the execution and refinement of product definition, translating requirements into User Stories and Acceptance Criteria. It emphasises continuous validation (Discovery) and quality practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure the right product is built, features are prioritised, and stakeholders are managed effectively
