Smart Ship Operations and Maintenance
About This Course
This two-day course introduces participants to the rapidly evolving landscape of smart and connected ship operations enabled by remote monitoring, data analytics, and inspection technologies. Participants will explore how digital tools—ranging from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and communication networks to remote inspections, Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality (AR/VR) collaboration, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven predictive maintenance—are transforming the way ships are managed, maintained, and surveyed. It provides an end-to-end understanding of how these technologies integrate into modern ship systems, enhancing safety, reliability, and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with classification society notations and guidelines. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on sessions using remote monitoring software, remote inspection simulations, and digital twin platforms, participants will gain both conceptual and practical skills to implement remote operation strategies onboard.
