Hands-On Quantum-Safe Networks: Practical Design and Deployment
About This Course
Quantum computing is advancing quickly and will soon challenge the security systems that protect our digital communications today. To stay secure, organisations need to explore Quantum-Safe Networks (QSN) using new technologies such as Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). This course focuses on applied, hands-on skills—not just theory—so participants learn how QSN works in real deployment environments, how encryption is changing, and what practical steps organisations can take now to prepare.
This programme is co-developed and co-delivered by the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and SpeQtral, combining SIT’s applied learning approach with SpeQtral’s industry expertise in quantum communications. The course is designed in response to growing industry demand, particularly from sectors such as finance, telecommunications, defence, energy and government, where secure communications are mission-critical. It is intended for Information Technology (IT) and cybersecurity professionals, network engineers, technical managers, and decision-makers who need to understand when QSN solutions are needed and how to plan for implementation within their organisations.
Unlike typical classroom learning, this course provides access to real QKD hardware and simulators, practical network design exercises, standards-based implementation methods, and examples of hybrid applications combining QKD and PQC. Participants will build and test QSN architecture, integrate QKD with classical networks, and experiment with real scenarios such as fibre cuts and routing performance. These skills enable learners to contribute directly to quantum-secure transformation within their organisations and strengthen their career opportunities in an emerging high-demand field.
What You'll Learn
2. Design and set up a trial QSN network using Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), their hybrid and appropriate topologies.
3. Apply and interpret QSN standards to ensure correct and secure implementation.
