Digital Resilience
About This Course
Digital systems are nowadays mission-critical to business processes as well as being essential to individuals. This can be seen from the high public impact, huge publicity, as well as penalties to businesses and their leaders, that arise from poor processs performance due to system resiliency issues. Examples of such situations in need for process improvement and optimisation include a whole country’s air services suspended due to failure of a critical aviation system; banks around the world having penalties and resignation of leaders due their system resilience issues; foreign government committe inquiry into chaotic system performance for online booking of popular concerts.
These resiliency issues result in either down time or poor handling of high transaction volumes or processing errors, and have a high need for process improvement and optimisation to resolve such issues, or better still, prevent such issues.
Organisations realise the importance of process improvement and optimisation to ensure high resilience for their systems and are willing to make significant investments in hardware, software and skills to achieve it, so as to keep their business running smoothly, satisfy their customers, scale well to meet growing business volumes, and avoid the losses & penalties arising from resilience issues.
This course provides IT professionals with whole system lifecycle best practice skills to achieve process improvement and optimisation so as to manage their systems effectively to ensure high resiliency. This includes equiipping IT professionsls on how to evaluate business function performance to identify opportunities for process improvement to achieve required resiliency, develop plans and steps to implement and optimise the improvements, observe the performance to review and further refine, and where required, to test/prototype the improvements before deploying significant resources for the enhancements.
What You'll Learn
- DEFINE optimal cost-effective performance targets for the digital services
- DESIGN the digital services to improve upon any existing issues so as to the better meet the targets
- BUILD & TEST the services using best practices to "shift-left", iterate and improve until the targets are achievable
- OBSERVE that the service in actual production is able to meet targets and if not, to be able to diagnose to improve
- OPERATE the services in a way that when targets are not met, the service can be improved and the issues resolved as quickly and as smoothly as possible
