Autonomous Bus Technology
About This Course
This 3-day course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills to navigate the future of autonmous bus operations in Singapore’s evolving land transport landscape. The course covers Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicle (AV) technologies, focusing on electric drive-by-wire systems, perception sensors, and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) automation levels. Lastly the training also covers remote operations, operational situational awareness, and vehicle safety checks.
Learners will learn:
Day 1: Fundamentals of Autonomous Vehicle (AV) bus technology, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features (Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), sensor integration (Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), radar, cameras), and communication protocols (Controller Area Network (CAN), Ethernet, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X)).
Day 2: Operational readiness, safety checks, navigation, diagnostics, telematics, and insights from Land of Transport Authority (LTA) Autonomous Vehicle (AV) trials and deployment standards.
Day 3: Technical maintenance and troubleshooting, including sensor calibration, software tools, fault simulation, and battery diagnostics.
Through hands-on exercises, scenario-based learning, and case studies from Singapore’s Autonomous Vehicle (AV) deployments, learners will gain industry-relevant competencies to manage and maintain autonomous bus fleets safely and efficiently.
What You'll Learn
Learners will:
1. Gain a solid foundation in Autonomous Vehicle bus (AV) architecture, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) automation levels, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and collision avoidance.
2. Learn sensor technologies (Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), radar, cameras, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)) and communication protocols (Controller Area Network (CAN), Ethernet, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X)) critical for Autonomous Vehicle (AV) systems.
3. Develop competencies in operational readiness, safety checks, diagnostics, telematics, and troubleshooting for Autonomous Vehicle (AV) buses.
4. Acquire hands-on experience in maintenance, calibration, and fault recovery, including software tools and battery diagnostics.
5. Understand Singapore’s Autonomous Vehicle (AV) deployment standards, Land Transport Authority (LTA) trial requirements, and global best practices to ensure compliance and safety.
This course bridges the gap between Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and full autonomy, preparing participants to lead in the transition toward electric and autonomous bus fleets.
