About This Course

This a Module under the Diploma in Design (Interior Design).

What You'll Learn

In this module, students are introduced to the philosophies and processes of design in general, and interior design in specific. This module intends to scaffold students’ learning process, providing more induction and exploration time for basic skills in design and creative processes before stepping into an interior design project proper, which requires comprehensive design development.
Students may also gain exposure to emerging technologies such as AI as supportive tools for research, ideation, and creative exploration. Additionally, sustainable design principles and green strategies may be introduced to encourage environmentally responsible approaches in early design thinking.

Entry Requirements

GCE ‘O’ Levels:
3 relevant passes and 1-year relevant working experience:
English Language: 1-7
Mathematics (Elementary or Additional): 1-7
Any other subject excluding CCA: 1-6

FT Nitec:
Nitec in Space Design (Interior & Exhibition), Space Design (Architecture) or related design discipline with GPA >= 3.5
OR
Nitec in Space Design (Interior & Exhibition), Space Design (Architecture) or related design discipline with GPA >= 3.0 and at least 1 year of relevant working experience.

PT Nitec in Technology/Services:
GPA > 3.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience

FT Higher Nitec:
Higher Nitec with GPA >=2.0
OR
Higher Nitec with GPA >=1.5 and at least 1 year of relevant working experience.

PT Higher Nitec in Technology/Services:
GPA > 2.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience

WSQ Diploma:
Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher) with 1 year of relevant working experience and Level 6 for both WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA & Workplace Numeracy SOA.
