About This Course

This a Module under the Diploma in Design (Interior Design).

What You'll Learn

This module aims to investigate various contemporary issues affecting interior design as the springboard for theorizing. It advances the concept that theory can actuate design as well as design decision-making. Theorization emphasizes the process of explication, hence requires the act of critical enquiry, explaining, and developing approaches for design.
Students may also gain exposure to emerging technologies such as AI as supportive tools for design research and generating insights to inform theoretical approaches.

Entry Requirements

GCE ‘O’ Levels:
3 relevant passes and 1-year relevant working experience:
English Language: 1-7
Mathematics (Elementary or Additional): 1-7
Any other subject excluding CCA: 1-6

FT Nitec:
Nitec in Space Design (Interior & Exhibition), Space Design (Architecture) or related design discipline with GPA >= 3.5
OR
Nitec in Space Design (Interior & Exhibition), Space Design (Architecture) or related design discipline with GPA >= 3.0 and at least 1 year of relevant working experience.

PT Nitec in Technology/Services:
GPA > 3.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience

FT Higher Nitec:
Higher Nitec with GPA >=2.0
OR
Higher Nitec with GPA >=1.5 and at least 1 year of relevant working experience.

PT Higher Nitec in Technology/Services:
GPA > 2.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience

WSQ Diploma:
Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher) with 1 year of relevant working experience and Level 6 for both WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA & Workplace Numeracy SOA.
