Training Tomorrow’s Green Facilities Manager Practitioners
About This Course
The built environment sector is experiencing a rapid shift towards sustainability-driven operations, with increasing emphasis on energy efficiency, green procurement, digitalisation, and data-enabled facilities management. Across the public sector, Facilities Management (FM) practitioners are expected to support decarbonisation goals while managing increasingly complex and diverse assets.
This course was developed in response to a request from JTC Corporation (JTC) to address identified skills gaps in Green Facilities Management within the Whole-of-Government (WOG) ecosystem. It is designed for FM practitioners from JTC and other public sector agencies, and is also relevant to industry stakeholders involved in managing and operating built environment assets.
By equipping participants with practical and cross-cutting green FM competencies, the course supports workforce upskilling across government and industry, enabling practitioners to deliver more sustainable, efficient, and future-ready building operations across the wider built environment sector.
What You'll Learn
It serves as essential job upgrading for FM professionals, enabling their transition from traditional maintenance roles to strategic green FM positions. It prepares them for evolving job demands in the public sector and industry, where there is a pressing need for personnel who can operationalise decarbonisation goals, secure funding, and drive holistic environmental performance.
The course is highly relevant to the industry, aligning directly with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 and the Built Environment Industry Transformation Map (ITM). It provides practical skills to meet tightening regulatory standards, improve building performance, reduce operational costs, and fulfil corporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments, thereby supporting the sector’s transformation towards a low-carbon future.
