Zero Waste Manager Course
About This Course
This course is designed for intermediate-level learners, particularly for middle managers, facility and property managers, sustainability officers, and operations leaders responsible for waste management and regulatory compliance. Learners will implement Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) Mandatory Waste Reporting (MWR) requirements, develop data-driven waste reduction strategies, and build an organisational sustainability culture. Through practical case studies and hands-on activities, participants will gain the technical skills to design 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) programmes, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and engage stakeholders across all levels to drive measurable environmental impact within their organisations.
What You'll Learn
Learners will monitor waste reduction programme performance by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as recycling rates and diversion targets, collecting and validating data from multiple sources, and constructing performance dashboards to identify improvement opportunities. They will develop comprehensive Zero Waste Action Plans by formulating phased implementation timelines, budget allocations, and risk mitigation strategies aligned with NEA and organisational requirements. Additionally, learners will execute data management and regulatory reporting by compiling waste data, preparing annual MWR submissions, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with 5-year retention requirements.
Learners will educate and engage stakeholders across organisational levels to build a culture of sustainability by designing targeted communication strategies, conducting role-specific training programmes for cleaning staff and tenants, and implementing recognition and incentive programmes to sustain participation. Applying change management principles, they will conduct stakeholder mapping to identify influence and interest levels, develop tailored interventions to address barriers to participation, and measure engagement effectiveness through participation rates and feedback mechanisms.
