Applied Enterprise Security Foundations & Architecture Design (Part of SCTP)
About This Course
This course transforms how learners approach enterprise cybersecurity — turning theory into practice with real-world architecture scenarios and hands-on exposure to industry-leading frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK, and CSA CCM.
Learners will learn how top organizations design security-by-design architectures across networks, endpoints, cloud, and identity systems — aligning governance, risk, and compliance with business strategy. Guided by industry practitioners, learners will apply risk-driven architectural thinking to plan secure, scalable, and compliant environments that can withstand today’s evolving threat landscape.
Perfect for aspiring security architects, technical leads, and cybersecurity strategists, this programme empowers learners to confidently design, defend, and deliver enterprise-grade security architectures that enable business growth while reducing risk.
What You'll Learn
Explain core cybersecurity principles, governance concepts, and the role of security in supporting enterprise IT and business objectives.
Identify and assess common cyber threats, attack vectors, and associated risks using recognized frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, STRIDE, and MITRE ATT&CK.
Design and evaluate layered security architectures incorporating identity, network, application, data, and cloud security controls, aligned with secure-by-design and Zero Trust principles.
Apply risk-based decision-making to prioritize security investments and implement modern strategies such as SASE, ZTNA, CARTA, and AI-driven defenses.
Entry Requirements
This programme is ideal for mid-career professionals seeking a career switch into cybersecurity from IT, infrastructure, cloud, software, data, or audit/compliance roles.
Applicants should be comfortable with basic computing and networking concepts (Windows/Linux fundamentals, IP/network basics); prior cybersecurity experience is not required.
A Diploma or higher (any discipline) or ≥2 years’ relevant work experience is recommended. Experience with Python/PowerShell or cloud services (AWS/Azure) is a plus, not a prerequisite.
Own laptop (Windows/macOS) required for hands-on activities.
Applicants will be required to undergo a shortlisting process where they must share their résumé and complete a pre-course assessment. Our instructors and career consultants will review applicants to assess their suitability before deciding whether to shortlist them for the course.
