What You'll Learn

The Certificate in Energy System Management provides participants with knowledge and skills in power quality and energy management for facilities. It covers the causes and effects of power quality issues, harmonics, and voltage disturbances, as well as mitigation methods and monitoring. Participants will learn the principles of different energy resources, electrical drives, and efficient lighting practices. The certificate also includes energy auditing, performance analysis, and the development of energy management programmes, including identifying energy-intensive systems, recommending energy conservation measures, analysing energy usage, and understanding energy economics, financial analysis, and relevant regulations.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have a diploma or higher qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Integrated Facility Management, Building Services or related field or a relevant part-time diploma in engineering.

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
