About This Course

At the end of the module, students will be able to :
MO1: Create challenging and developmentally appropriate environments to support the development of students aged 7 – 14 years
MO2: Support the physical, social and emotional, language, creative and cognitive development of students aged 7 – 14 years
MO3: Identify responsibilities under Workplace Safety and Health Act (ESS Workplace Skills Series: Workplace Safety and Health, Element 8.1.1)
MO4: Assist with infection control and infection prevention
MO5: Respond to signs of illness and accidents
MO6: Respond to incidents and emergencies

What You'll Learn

Participants will gain an overview of the roles and responsibilities of working with children. They will be introduced to major theories in child development and their implications on general student care practices and programme implementation. Participants will also be equipped with basic measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their students.

Entry Requirements

• A local Polytechnic Diploma or Degree with at least 1-year relevant working experience
• State-recognized University Degree in any discipline where the medium of instruction is English and with at least 1-year relevant working experience.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
