About This Course
Learners will understand how planning and automation drive efficient inventory control and storage management. The module will cover concepts of inventory planning and fulfillment, warehouse functions and decisions, handling and storage of products, and warehouse design and strategy. Learners will also be introduced to storage for temperature-controlled and hazardous products.
What You'll Learn
On completion of this module, learners are able to:
1. Explain the importance and purpose of warehousing, apply the inventory control and management concepts and describe the usefulness of forecasting for demand management.
2. Perform warehousing functions and make informed decisions to support distribution and supply chain execution for the various types of goods in domestic and international markets.
3. Describe the various storage racking and material handling systems, and determine the types of stock keeping unit for effective warehouse operations.
4. Design warehouse layout for a category of goods in view of its operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Entry Requirements
Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 passes including English and Mathematics; NITEC; Higher NITEC.
