Human Anatomy and Physiology by Organ Systems (Classroom, Synchronous and Asynchronous e-learning)
About This Course
This course provides non-medical learners with an in-depth understanding of the structure and function of major human organ systems, establishing the biomedical foundation to comprehend disease mechanisms and the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. It explores integrated physiology and homeostasis, covering key processes such as circulation, gas exchange, neural signalling, hormonal regulation, metabolism, fluid electrolyte balance, and immune defence. Emphasis is placed on system interactions that sustain homeostasis, illustrated by clinical examples. The curriculum is designed for learners bridging technology and clinical knowledge, addressing the increasing significance of AI in biomedical research and healthcare innovation.
What You'll Learn
• Identify the major organs of each body system and describe their anatomical relationships.
• Explain fundamental physiological mechanisms that maintain homeostasis.
• Relate anatomical and physiological knowledge to common clinical scenarios and medical Artificial Intelligence (AI) data.
Entry Requirements
The programme is primarily for clinicians and healthcare professionals. Professionals, such as scientists and researchers, interested in how to apply AI technologies to biomedical data are also welcome. There is no pre-requisite to enroll in the programme but some background in the healthcare sector and/or computer literacy would be an advantage.
