About This Course
The Diploma (Conversion) in Early Childhood Care & Education - Teaching [DECCE-T(Conversion)] aims to equip students with:
1) a firm understanding of child development and principles of early childhood care and education for children from birth to eight years of age.
2) skills to observe and document children's development to plan responsive, inclusive and integrated curriculum guided by Singaporean's national frameworks.
3) skills to apply early childhood pedagogical approaches and knowledge of children in designing developmentally appropriate learning environments and experiences.
4) skills and disposition to build positive relationships through quality interactions, facilitate and evaluate children's learning experiences.
5) interpersonal skills to work collaboratively, build relationships and communicate professionally with colleagues, families and other stakeholders to support children's holistic development
6) knowledge, skills and disposition to embrace professional values and attributes, to become a competent, reflective and resilient practitioner.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible to apply for DECCE-T (Conversion), candidates need to meet the following criteria:
Local Qualification
Obtain a Local Polytechnic Diploma/ ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Learn Technical Diploma /University Degree or equivalent; AND
Obtained ONE of the following:
o A Grade C6 in GCE O-level credit in English (EL1); OR
o An English Language Acceptable Alternatives (ELAA)
Foreign Qualification
Degree (or above) with English as the medium of instruction from a state-recognised university
Note: English Language Acceptable Alternatives (ELAA) is required if MOI is not proven to be in English.
