Green Design in the Built Environment (Asynchronous E-learning)
About This Course
The course is designed to develop learners’ understanding of green design principles and their application in the built environment to support climate responsiveness, resource efficiency, and human well‑being. Built environment professionals play a critical role in shaping sustainable cities and buildings, facing growing challenges such as urban density, climate change, resource constraints, and occupant health expectations. Through the course, learners strengthen their competencies in applying urban‑scale green design strategies, implement climate‑responsive and passive design approaches to reduce environmental impact, integrate biophilic and human‑centric design to enhance indoor environmental quality, and adopt sustainable material and resource‑efficient design principles guided by life‑cycle thinking. Learners will be equipped with practical knowledge to evaluate real‑world projects and contribute to environmentally responsible, resilient, and people‑focused built environment outcomes.
