About This Course

This is a module under the Specialist Diploma in Air-Conditioning & Energy Sustainability.

What You'll Learn

This module equips students with practical knowledge and skills in building energy modelling and digital design for energy-efficient facilities. It focuses on the use of IES VE simulation software for building energy analysis, including solar analysis, thermal loading, HVAC system design, and ETTV assessment using the IES GM Pro module. The module also covers Building Information Modelling (BIM) for ACMV systems using Autodesk Revit, enabling students to develop integrated and collaborative digital models to support energy-efficient building design and performance evaluation. AI Chatbot will be integrated into this module to help learners in their work on assignments and projects.

Entry Requirements

Diploma Qualifications:
Applicants need to have a minimum diploma qualification in mechanical engineering, precision engineering or industry engineering from recognized institutions.

Individuals with a minimum diploma qualification in other engineering fields other than mechanical engineering, but with three years of relevant working experience in ACMV/ cleanroom facility/ facility management/ ESD and building services industry will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be subjected to interviews or tests before they can be considered for enrolment.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least five (5) years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
