Optimising Industrial Steam Systems: Hands-On Engineering Course
About This Course
Process steam systems and boilers are among the largest energy consumers in industrial facilities, yet they are often overlooked for optimisation due to their complexity and the perceived risk of interrupting operations. As energy costs rise and carbon reduction targets tighten, there is a growing need for engineers and technicians who can confidently assess, tune, and improve these systems without compromising reliability or safety. To address this gap, the following intensive training programme has been developed.
This intensive 3-day training programme is designed for utility engineers and technicians involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of process steam systems and boilers.
The course integrates fundamental theory with practical application, with a strong focus on energy efficiency, measurement and verification (M&V), and system optimisation. Participants will gain hands-on experience using real industrial equipment at the Energy Efficiency Technology Centre (EETC) mini plant, enabling them to directly apply concepts in a controlled yet realistic environment.
The programme is structured to be highly practical and immersive, with approximately two days dedicated to hands-on sessions and one day to classroom-based learning. Leveraging multiple steam system test rigs available at the facility, the course content can be tailored to align with real-world operational scenarios.
