WSQ Respond to Fire and Hazmat Emergency
About This Course
The WSQ Respond to Fire and Hazmat Emergency course equips learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond effectively to fire and hazardous materials (Hazmat) emergencies in the workplace. The course is designed for personnel who may be required to act as first responders, including Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, within industrial, commercial, and high-risk operational environments.
Learners will be trained to apply emergency response plans, operate fire and Hazmat emergency equipment, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and carry out containment, decontamination, and search and rescue actions under controlled conditions. The course adopts a competency-based approach, integrating theory with hands-on practice to ensure learners can respond safely, systematically, and in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements during fire and Hazmat incidents.
