Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and AI for Security Professionals
About This Course
In today's rapidly evolving security environment, organisations need professionals who can efficiently gather, assess, and communicate security-relevant information from publicly available sources. Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) has become an essential capability for security practitioners seeking to understand emerging threats, assess risks, and support informed decision-making.
This practical two-day course introduces participants to the fundamentals of intelligence work, including the intelligence cycle, OSINT research techniques, source evaluation, and intelligence reporting. Participants will then explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) can enhance intelligence workflows by improving research efficiency, analysis, and report production.
Through hands-on exercises and realistic case studies drawn from Singapore's security landscape, participants will learn how to combine traditional intelligence tradecraft with modern AI tools to produce reliable and actionable intelligence outputs.
What You'll Learn
1. Explain the intelligence cycle and apply it to a basic security collection and reporting task.
2. Apply traditional OSINT research techniques and source evaluation methods to gather and assess relevant information.
3. Produce a structured intelligence report tailored to operational and management stakeholders.
4. Explain the concepts, capabilities, limitations and risks of AI and Large Language Models in intelligence work.
5. Use AI tools and effective prompting techniques to support intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting.
