Modular Certificate in Design and Analysis Tools
About This Course
1) Module Title: Data Visualisation and Analysis for Engineering
- This module covers the data analytics lifecycle, including cleaning, processing, and visualising data. Students will learn to perform exploratory data analysis, develop a visual dashboard using a visualisation tool and present insights through a data storytelling approach.
2) Module Title: Programming for Engineering
- This introductory module aims to equip students with the ability and confidence to build applications using Python and its several widely used libraries. Students will acquire the competencies to incorporate programming components such as variables, input and output statements, functions, loops, and decision-making structures into their applications. Students will also perform descriptive data analysis on datasets using suitable libraries.
3) Module Title: Computer-aided Design
- Computer-aided Design (CAD) is a popular tool in the engineering design, analysis and manufacturing process. In this module, students will learn and apply the fundamentals of 3D CAD modelling techniques, simulating assembly and 2D engineering drawing for mechatronics related systems. Students are also required to analyse engineering data, form fit and layout of their design and present their design in either 3D or 2D snap shots. Students would also be exposed to prototyping methods for development of solutions in mechatronics related systems that can be easily done through a computer-aided design.
