Modular Certificate in Systems Thinking & Industry 4.0
About This Course
1) Module Title: Fundamentals of Industrial Internet of Things
- This module introduces broad-based knowledge of the emerging trend of digitalisation and Internet of Things (IoT), which comprises a multitude network of devices and digital transformation in sectors like engineering, finance and healthcare. The engineering applications encompass various industries such as aerospace, electronics, advanced manufacturing and supply chain management; with coverage of essential technologies needed in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Automation. Students’ views will be holistically moulded in the digital world as they equip themselves with engineering capabilities to leverage the power of IoT by making sense of its fundamental concepts and bonding to realistic operating models both locally and globally with IIoT.
2) Module Title: Artificial Intelligence in Engineering
- This module aims to equip students with an understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its relevance to engineering applications. It will cover the theory and application process of AI methods, machine learning and deep learning techniques, and AI ethics. Commonly used machine learning algorithms and deep learning models will be introduced to students, along with engineering use cases. Students will build their understanding of AI methods and tools using AI models in engineering systems. The evolution and the latest development of AI will also be introduced to support students to further explore this field.
3) Module Title: Mechatronic Systems and Design
- This module introduces how microcontroller, electronics, and mechanics can be integrated into a reliable system. Students will gain essential knowledge on integrating the sensors, actuators, and displays for programming a microcontroller-based application. Students will also learn about programming and interface sensors and gain motor control of the automation
