Management of Clinical Conditions in Physiotherapy Rehabilitation (Classroom and Asynchronous e-learning)
About This Course
This course builds clinical competencies for managing acute and complex medical conditions in hospital and rehabilitation settings. Learners develop competencies in assessing and treating respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, geriatric and internal medicine conditions affecting mobility and function. Learners gain practical skills in exercise prescription, airway clearance techniques, functional mobility training, and safe progression of rehabilitation interventions. Through case-based learning and workplace-based assessments, learners will be able to strengthen clinical reasoning and deliver patient-centred rehabilitation across the care continuum, supporting career progression into acute care and rehabilitation practice roles.
What You'll Learn
1. Assess, develop and implement physiotherapy management plans for common conditions requiring rehabilitation across acute, subacute and community settings.
2. Apply evidence-based rehabilitation principles e.g., exercise prescription, airway clearance techniques, functional mobility training and rehabilitation progression etc.
3. Use clinical reasoning to adapt interventions based on patient response, comorbidities and functional goals.
4. Integrate the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework to develop person-centred rehabilitation plans across the continuum of care.
