About This Course
• Identify and classify different types of robots and their applications.
• Select suitable robots based on mechanisms and operational requirements.
• Understand emerging robotics and automation trends across industries.
• Explain robot components, joints, degrees of freedom, coordinate systems and workspaces.
• Apply principles of robot kinematics, path planning and motion planning.
• Programme basic robot movements using an Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
• Design, build and deploy a simple robotic system through hands-on practical activities.
What You'll Learn
This course equips learners with the foundational knowledge and practical skills to understand, design, build and deploy basic automated systems using robotics. Learners will explore different types of robots, robotics applications and emerging automation trends, understand robot components, workspaces, kinematics, path and motion planning, and develop basic robot programming skills using an Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Through hands-on practical activities, learners will design, build and programme a robotic system to perform specified tasks, preparing them to support robotics and automation initiatives across manufacturing and other sectors.
Entry Requirements
Participants are required to have the ability to converse, read and write in English. Minimum Lower Secondary Education or WPLN Level 4 and above.
