Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance and Regulation in Singapore: Law, Ethics, Policy, and Global Frameworks
About This Course
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force with profound implications for society, industry, and governments. As AI policy, AI governance frameworks, and AI regulations continue to evolve globally, organisations and professionals increasingly require a deeper understanding of AI ethics, governance, and regulatory policy.
This course provides participants with the fundamental building blocks to: (a) understand and appreciate current and emerging opportunities and risks about AI, (b) critically analyse the complex factors to be considered in regulating AI, and (c) constructively participate in the globally-evolving discourse on AI governance, regulation, policymaking, ethics and related issues that will shape the collective endeavour of AI regulation.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the policy and societal impact, opportunities, benefits, and concerns surrounding AI systems, while developing an appreciation of the ethical principles that underpin today’s AI regulations. They will also explore the broad range of considerations involved in AI regulation, including the “who”, “why”, “what”, “when”, and “how” of regulating AI, and examine the current state of AI regulatory approaches across jurisdictions such as the European Union, United States, China, and Singapore. In addition, participants will learn about the wider legal and regulatory frameworks impacting AI, including privacy and data protection laws, as well as relevant criminal and civil laws.
