Advanced Maritime Cybersecurity for Shipboard Operations
About This Course
This course is designed for ships’ deck and engineer officers (Seafaring) and those serving in shore-based operations and technical positions (Ship Management, Ship Operations) to gain a deep insight into Cyber Security in the Maritime Operational Domain. Participants will grasp the fundamentals of Industrial Control Systems (ICS)/ Operations Technology (OT)/ Information Technology (IT)/ Internet of Things (IoT) networks, shipboard system integration, network architecture, safety critical systems, and applicable frameworks such as International Maritime Organization Maritime Safety Committee (IMO MSC).428(98) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 62443. The course will align the application of International Maritime Organization (IMO) guidelines of Risk Assessment for Cyber Security set out through the following principles – Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover. Participants will gain an understanding of Operations Technology (OT) control domains.
What You'll Learn
1. Analyse cross control domain vulnerability, implying a cyber-attack on one system which affects another system.
2. Map failure pathways primarily across critical shipboard systems and systems related to monitoring and measurement.
3. Apply the outputs from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Maritime Testbed of Shipboard Operational Technology (MariOT) test bed.
4. Evaluate the demanding events that can arise due to non-availability or failure of systems.
Entry Requirements
1. Seafarers serving at Management Level and Operational level (STCW1 Code levels of responsibility) on ships
2. Ship Management, Shipping Operations Managers, Superintendents, Technical Executives
