Navigating Conflicts for Tomorrow’s Challenges
About This Course
The digital economy generates a distinct category of conflicts, for example, disputes arising from technology-driven organisational change, platform-based workflow disruptions, algorithmic decision-making, and the interpersonal friction inherent in virtual and hybrid collaboration environments. This module equips participants with structured diagnostic tools and resolution strategies to address conflicts in technology-intensive settings with professional confidence. Participants will analyse digital artefacts (e.g. email threads, collaboration platform logs, workflow records) to trace conflict triggers and escalation patterns in technology-mediated environments. Participants develop community partnership and effective client communication competencies, positioning themselves as trusted advisors who co-create workable resolutions, facilitate dialogue across digitally connected stakeholder networks, and rebuild collaborative trust in technology-mediated environments following resolved disputes.
What You'll Learn
- Diagnose the nature, root causes, and organisational costs of conflicts arising from digital workflows, technology-driven change, platform-based collaboration challenges, and virtual team dynamics using structured conflict analysis frameworks.
- Apply a repertoire of five situationally-matched conflict resolution strategies — competing, accommodating, avoiding, compromising, and collaborating — using an importance-relationship assessment matrix to address disputes in digital and hybrid work contexts.
- Implement a technology-supported conflict resolution process using digital collaboration artefacts (e.g. communication logs, workflow tracking tools, shared documentation platforms) to uncover underlying interests, map stakeholder dynamics, and document resolution pathways.
- Apply professional consultation competencies and community partnership approaches to facilitate productive dialogue, co-create workable resolutions, and rebuild collaborative trust across digitally connected internal and external stakeholder networks.
- Demonstrate effective client communication proficiency in delivering difficult messages constructively, managing heightened emotional responses, and maintaining professional integrity throughout conflict resolution processes in digital and hybrid settings.
- Establish collaborative frameworks to restore functional working relationships and sustain stakeholder engagement following conflicts arising from digital transformation and technology-driven organisational change.
